The submitted articles are subject to preliminary evaluation by the editorial board. In case of non-compliance with the requirements of the "Historical and Philological Journal", the editorial board either rejects the article or guides the author to make the necessary changes. All articles are reviewed within a very short time.

The articles may be rejected due to non-compliance with the journal's standards. If they pass the preliminary evaluation, they are submitted for review by specialist-scientists in the relevant fields.

The reviewers should recommend whether the manuscript deserves publishing without changes; requires small or major revisions; or should be rejected. In specific cases, the editor may decide to send the manuscript to the third reviewer. Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial board adopt a final decision.

The review and revision process is organized anonymously.
