The "Historical and Philological Journal" publishes and covers issues on the history, literature, language, art and culture, of the Armenian people, philosophical issues, theoretical problems of historiography and Armenian studies, political, economic and cultural ties of the Armenian people with other peoples.

Researchers with academic degree and those who have scientifically proven themes can publish their research works in the journal.

The journal has sections for History, Literary Studies, Linguistics, Art Studies, Archaeology and Ethnography, History of Philosophical Thought, Cultural Studies, Discussions, Publications, Reviews and, if necessary, Our Honored Scholars, Our Jubilees, Scientific Life, News.  

 The articles are published in Armenian, Russian, English with relevant summaries, free of charge.

The periodical comes out once in four months, three issues annually.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE ARTICLE AND TECHNICAL DESIGN

  1. The volume of the article should be up to 15 pages (in case of larger volume, the decision is made by the editorial office), the width of the text – 12.5 cm, length – 21 cm, line spacing - at least 1.3 cm.
  2. The Armenian text should be with “GHEA Grapalat” font, italic, the highlighted text (word) - straight, with font size 12, the Russian text should be with “GHEA Grapalat” font, size 10.5.
  3. The title of the article should be with “Arial Unicode” font, in CAPITAL LETTERS (the font size of the Armenian text – 12, Russian text – 11), centre aligned, and below the title - the first name and the last name of the author in CAPITAL LETTERS (Armenian with “GHEA Grapalat” font, size 11, Russian – “GHEA Grapalat” font, size 10).
  4. The “Keywords” are written in the next line– at least 10 words or word combinations (straight).
  5. The summaries given at the end of the article should have a concise content of the text (half a page or 6-7 sentences). If the article is in Armenian, the summaries should be in Russian and English and if it is in Russian, the summaries should be in Armenian and English. The font size for Armenian and English should be 11.5, for Russian – 11.
  6. The title of the article should be in CAPITAL LETTERS (font size 11) above the summary text, below – the first name and the last name of the author (centre aligned) in CAPITAL LETTERS. In the centre of the next line, accordingly the words “Ամփոփում”, (if the article is in Russian) “Резюме”, “Summary” words are written in expanded characters, with font size 10. Before each text of summary, the “Keywords” are accordingly written in the given language, and the font size should be the same as it is in the summary text. The “Keywords” should be identical in all languages.
  7. At the end of the article text, you should give brief information about the author(s) - scientific degree, place of work, research interests and number of the published works. Below, the list of the used literature is placed in Latin transliteration (in alphabetical order).
  8. After the summary in Russian, the information about the author is given in Russian and after the English summary, the information is in English.

 DESIGN OF REFERENCES

 а) The font size for references: Armenian-11, Russian- 11, other languages- 11.

  1. b) When referring to a book, the initial letter of the author's first name and the full last name are written in expanded characters followed by a semi-colon, next comes the title of the book in capital letters without quotation marks and then the place of publication, the date and the page with commas.
  2. c) In case of collections, first, you should indicate the title of the used article followed by a semi-colon and a dash, then the title of the collection, the data of the editor or compiler, the place of publication, date, and page.
  3. d) When referring to journals, you should indicate the first and last name of the author, the title of the article followed by a semi-colon and dash, the name of the journal in quotation marks, the place of publication, date, number of the issue, page. In case of newspapers, you should indicate the name of the newspaper in quotation marks followed by the place of publication in brackets and then the date (e.g. 01.11.1998). The above stated also refers to Russian and other languages.
  4. e) When referring to the websites, you should write the title of the article or the data of the author followed by a semi-colon and dash and then the website address.

The articles are reviewed; in case of rejection, they are not returned.
