    Sergey Gorodetsky (1884–1967), the famous Russian poet, writer, public speaker, translator and public figure made an invaluable contribution to covering and assessing, to revealing new facts and details of the various aspects of the Armenian reality of the 10s of the 20th century. Acting and living first in Western Armenia then in Transcaucasia (1916–1921), he kept a close eye on the events taking place in Armenia, on the interior and exterior situation of the country and raised his powerful voice in favor of the just stuggle of the Armenian people.

    The process of evaluation of the personality and activity of the famous Russian poet, critic, translator Valery Bryusov (1873-1924) by the Armenian literary and scientific mind has a history of more than a century. Vahan Teryan was one of the first to evaluate works of Valery Bryusov in 1913. In the Armenian environment, interest in the personality and works of Valery Bryusov rose sharply, especially after the Great Armenian Genocide carried out by the Ottoman Empire, during the preparation and publication of the collection “Poetry of Armenia” compiled and edited by Bryusov in 1915–1916. Many prominent figures of Armenian literature of the time: Hovh. Hovhannisyan, Al. Shirvanzadeh, H. Tumanyan, V. Teryan, A. Chopanyan, N. Aghbalyan, spoke out in the forms of articles, poems, welcome speeches, letters, etc.

    This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the famous Russian scientist-literary scholar, poet, translator, Armenologist, Yuri Aleksey Veselovsky – the first thorough researcher and propagandist of the history, literature and art of the Armenian people in Russia since the late 80s of the 19th century. His studies are a valuable contribution to the development of Armenology in Russia. The son of a professor at Moscow University, a talented researcher of world literature, the author of numerous articles and studies, Alexey Nikolaevich and translator Alexandra Adolfovna Veselovsky, and the nephew of Academician Alexander Nikolaevich Veselovsky – Yu. Veselovsky was born on July 6, 1872 in Moscow.
