Each historical-geographical region of Armenia has had its own place and role both in regional developments and in the social and cultural life of Armenians. From that point of view, Syunik province of the kingdom of Greater Armenia is not an exception either. Together with Artsakh, it has been the eastern gate of the Armenian land for centuries, one of its military-political and civilizational cornerstones . It is no coincidence that Syunik had a special status in the kingdom of Greater Armenia. In Arsacid Armenia, the military forces under the ruling Syunik (Syuni) ministerial dynasty were among the most numerous , that is, they were ministers of the nobility and bore the titles of Prince of Princes or Crown Prince.

After the Armenian-Azerbaijani 44-day war (September 27-November 9), in order to gradually strengthen its positions, and countering Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s policy aimed at weakening the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, we propose on the agenda of the current Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations an issue that has never been discussed before, and which will significantly strengthen the position of the Armenian and Iranian sides, as well as will diminish the capacities of implementing of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem’s pan-Turkic program.

Artsakh is known for its figures who had a significant role in the development of the educational and cultural life of Armenians in big and small cities of various regions of Armenia, Transcaucasia and Europe. Unfortunately, the activities of representatives of the Artsakh intelligentsia in provincial cities are still poorly known. Among such figures is Jalal Ter-Grigoryan (the literary pseudonym of Sallyumyan) who for many years led public, pedagogical and literary activities in Javakhk.
