The Otsop dialect (Otsop-Horsa), to some extent, stands out among the closely related dialects of the Jauk-Vayk interdialect (about a dozen villages of the Vayots Dzor marz of the Republic of Armenia). Phonetic, morphological and lexical deviations of the Otsop dialect from the general features of the interdialect can be explained not only by contacts with the neighboring dialects (Artsakh-Syunik dialect, interdialect of Northern Goghtn), but also by the fact that in the first half of the 19th century Armenians who migrated from Khoy and Salmast moved to the village of Otsop and lived together with the local residents, whose native dialect left its mark on some features of the autochthonous dialect.

Each historical-geographical region of Armenia has had its own place and role both in regional developments and in the social and cultural life of Armenians. From that point of view, Syunik province of the kingdom of Greater Armenia is not an exception either. Together with Artsakh, it has been the eastern gate of the Armenian land for centuries, one of its military-political and civilizational cornerstones . It is no coincidence that Syunik had a special status in the kingdom of Greater Armenia. In Arsacid Armenia, the military forces under the ruling Syunik (Syuni) ministerial dynasty were among the most numerous , that is, they were ministers of the nobility and bore the titles of Prince of Princes or Crown Prince.

The biographical information on David Bek, the leader of the liberation movement of Syunik of the 18th century, is scant or non-existent. The combined analysis of the research conducted by different authors, separute evidence and manuscripts, enables us to conclude: 1. David Bek was presumably from Syunik, born in Tatev. In all likelihood, this was the reason he became the leader of the liberation movement of Syunik.

Food is an essential part of the culture of the national feasts. In this context, it is a sacrifice (cereals, meat, dairy products), the purpose of which is to express gratitude for a high harvest and protection from natural disasters (drought, rain, etc.). Atsik (malt) in the scientific literature is mentioned as food symbolizing the arrival of spring and is prepared during Lent or on the eve of Easter.

Ghevond Alishan’s scientific-literary heritage includes his scientific publications of Armenian medieval manuscripts, historical-geographical and historical studies, literary-religious translations, fiction and poems. Alishan originally planned to present all the regions of Historical Armenia in separate volumes, but managed to publish just four of them: “Shirak” (1881), “Sisvan” (1885) dedicated to Cilicia, “Ayrarat” (1890) and dedicated to Syunik “Sisakan” (1893). Although these are historical-geographical works, they are however written in the artistic style peculiar to Alishan. He paid special importance to writing about the historical and heroic events related to the places of those geographical areas.

In the result of the conducted research, we added the sixth branch to the five ones of the ruling royal princes of Syunik – branch of princes of the province of Arevik. The basis for this was the inscription on the khachkar installed in the southern corner of the eastern wall of the Church of St. Stepanos in the village of Vank restored in 1554, Meghri region. This inscription, dated 902, mentions “Lord Smbat”. According to the research and purchase contracts of the Tatev Monastery for the period from 839 to 891, the title of “Lord” was borne by diocesan bishops and throne princes. The same Smbat is mentioned on the khachkar, dated 911, which was erected in the rural area of Lichkvaz in the region of Meghri.
